Baby watch continues...

I have been saying for two weeks that he'll be here any day now! Well, here we are two weeks later and still no Baby Austin. I guess this is just another reminder that I am not in control here. (I know I never have been!) I had hoped he would have come on my birthday last Friday and been the ultimate "birth"day present but alas, I'm another year older and still pregnant.
A recap of the long weekend, really starts last Thursday night. Last Thursday night Kris and I went to a Campaign Event for TCU on the Plaza.
It was great fun! It was a good reason to get dressed up and talk about why TCU is so great. The TCU Jazz Band played the Fight Song and other great jazz songs. Baby Austin danced all around in my belly! I imagined him doing Rif Ram in my belly. I am counting that as Austin's second concert. His first concert was Pat Green and Cory Morrow at the end of January.
Can you tell it's way past my bedtime in this picture? Being the good parents that we are... we are trying to expose Austin to all kinds of music.
I took Friday off to rest and celebrate my birthday. It was a great day! I spent most of the day shopping with Kris and his mom. On our shopping trip to Nebraska Furniture Mart, we finally found our chair for the nursery. We have gone and back forth and whether or not to get one AND then back and forth on which one to get. We are very happy with our new chair.
After chair shopping I went to a fantastic Texas Independence Day party. This was my second year to attend this great event. It's all women from the KC area but you must be from Texas. Not just from Texas but born in Texas. No exceptions. The hostesses serve only Texas' finest: Shiner Bock Beer, Dr. Pepper, Texas wines, Railhead BBQ, Nieman Marcus cookies and more!
This picture is not from the party... but these boots were a recent shower gift from a friend at work! How cute are they?
I finished my birthday off by sharing Chinese take-out with Kris and opening birthday cards and presents. So much for resting on my day off!
Kris and I tried to get some rest on Saturday and Sunday. Both of us realized that this was our last weekend that we would just be "Brooke and Kris." We know we are only improving our situation by adding little Austin to our home but life will be different. So we tried to harvest our hours of sleep this weekend and get ready for another week of Baby Watch!
